You don’t need any past experience to show your love on the dance floor. Learning to dance for your wedding is a fun and stress-free experience that you’ll cherish forever!
Children
Ballroom Dancing is a great activity for kids. It’s great exercise and will also give your child confidence, poise, and social skills that are important throughout life.

Our group classes run in 7-week sessions at Concourse Hall in Ann Arbor, MI and Mackenzie Hall Cultural Center in Windsor, ON. We offer four adult levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Masters of Smooth. Dances taught rotate each session and include Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, and Salsa. No partner is required — singles rotate throughout class.

Private lessons are available in Ann Arbor and Windsor and are the fastest path to skill development. You receive personalized coaching on technique, balance, frame, and partner communication, tailored entirely to your goals. Lessons are scheduled by appointment. Private instruction is also the preferred format for wedding couples, competitive dancers, and students who want focused, rapid progress.
Wedding First Dance

We specialize in preparing couples for their wedding first dance in Ann Arbor and Windsor. Most wedding couples we work with are complete beginners — our instructors help you look elegant, comfortable, and natural on the floor regardless of your starting point. Programs start at 4–5 lessons for a simple, romantic first dance and extend to 7 or more for a fully choreographed routine with dips, turns, and custom staging. We also prepare father-daughter and mother-son dances.

Children's group classes run in 7-week sessions in Ann Arbor on Wednesdays and in Windsor on Tuesdays, for ages 7–12. Ballroom dancing builds coordination, poise, self-confidence, and social skills that benefit children in every area of life. Private lessons are also available for kids who want to advance faster or explore competitive DanceSport.

World-Class Instructors, Beginner-Friendly Teaching
Ballroom At Its Best is owned and taught by Claire Hansen and Richard Tonizzo, who competed together at the world level for 16 years. Claire and Richard are three-time Canadian Professional National Champions (2017–2019), multiple Blackpool Professional Standard Quarter-Finalists, and former Canadian World Representatives in Professional Standard — credentials that place them among the highest-achieving competitive ballroom dancers in North America.
Despite those achievements, their teaching philosophy is built entirely around beginners. Their step-by-step approach has helped hundreds of first-time students — including wedding couples with zero prior dance experience — learn to move confidently and elegantly on the floor.
